Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill = Looks to Kill? Maybe.

I recently picked up Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in Lust Red.  It's a semi-liquid, semi-powder silky eyeshadow with AMAZING color...  Does Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill = Looks to Kill?  My hubby thinks so...you judge for yourself though.

Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Lust Red swatched over Bare Escentuals Eyecolor in Hope and MAC Stars N' Rockets.  I had to use one or the other to get the true beauty of this color to come out.  I went with Hope.

Ok, this picture is an AWFUL yellow color BUT it shows the glimmer that comes out in the eyeshadow.

In this look I used Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in Lust Red, ID Bare Escentuals in Hope, MAC Prance e/s, Rimmel Black Kohl eyepencil and MAC Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack.  I acutally used a bit of the Lust Red and Hope layered with my MAC #210 liner brush underneath the eye.

I put my primer on my lids, as always, then a layer of Bare Escentuals Hope, then I added the Eyes To Kill Lust Red on top of it, concentrating the color on the outside lid, than I added the MAC Prance to the brow and the inner corner of the eyes...  I LOVE IT!  This is a romantic night out look.

Again...Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill in Lust Red and Bare Escentuals e/c in Hope are really the stars of this show!

This color CANNOT be duped!  If, by my pictures, you think it can than I have NOT done it justice.  I'm in LOVE!

So...Eyes to Kill???  It's up to you when you try it out.

Swatch of Refined Golden Bronzer

This is the daytime sunset look using MAC Surf Baby!  MAC Sun Blonde is on inner corner of lid, MAC Expensive Pink is on center of lid, Makeup For Ever Iridescent Fuchsia Star Powder in crease and outer lid, MAC Short Shorts on brow.  Also wearing MAC Refined Golden bronzer, NARS "O" blush, NARS Copacabana multiple as a highlighter on cheekbone and MAC Good Lovin' lipglass.

This is the nighttime sunset look using MAC Surf Baby!  MAC Sun Blonde is on inner corner of lid, MAC Expensive Pink is on center of lid, Makeup For Ever Iridescent Fuchsia Star Powder in crease and outer lid, MAC Short Shorts on brow.  Also wearing MAC Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack, MAC Refined Golden bronzer, NARS "O" blush and NARS Copacabana multiple as a highlighter on cheekbone.

...wearing MAC Strange Potion lipglass...  this is my FAVE from the collection so far!  This coral is SO perfect on my skin tone (NW20).

The key to getting the sunkissed look without having too much time with it is to layer and contour.  Really not as difficult as it sounds.  First apply all primer, foundation, concealer and finishing powder as usual.  Second, apply darker shade of bronzer in the pocket of your cheek right under your cheekbone (like applying blush in the 70s and 80s).  Third, apply an illuminator (liquid or stick) above the brow, down the temple and circling down on TOP of the cheekbone (in the shape of a "C" or backwards "C"), and on the bridge of the nose, then blend.  Last, apply blush to just the apple of the cheek (the part of your cheek that sticks up the most when you smile).  Voila!  You will look like you've spent a fashionable amount of time in the sun!

This is my tropical and summery rendition of the half moon manicure.  I used Essie Braziliant for the large part, NYC Taxi Yellow for the half moon and for the flower detail on the ring finger I used Orly Purple Crush and Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear White On.

....for the flower detail I used a bobby pin for a dotting tool...GREAT technique...
Couldn't finish this epic post without the jewelry!!!  This is my Tropical Fruit Salad Bracelet complete with Fire Opal Swarovski crystal.  One of my summer time FAVES!!!

Newbie Blogger Lessons Learned

As a result of some not-so-in-depth research of Googling different products I've featured on this blog I've learned to ENSURE the picture I label, with the product names, is the one I want plastered all over the internet, the BEST one...not the WORST one!  Lesson learned and I'm over it.  :) (kind of)

Half-moon manicure pics!

This is the half-moon manicure!  This also serves as good swatch for Essie Chinchilly or Essie Nice is Nice combo with Sephora OPI Wardrobe Change.

I understand the half-moon manicure was a big trend between the 1920s and 1940s.  Which I can see since it looks very Art Deco to me.  I like the vintage flair and sophistication this look gives to you hands.  Very inexpensive yet dramatic (if you choose the right colors) hand makeover.

...with my white gold, diamond and alexandrite ring...  (pretty, I think)

This half-moon manicure was brought to you by Essie Nice is Nice, Essie Chinchilly, Sephora OPI Wardrobe Change and adhesive paper hole reinforcements!  This was super easy!  Painted my nails Nice is Nice one day (two coats).  Next day applied hole reinforcements (ever after referred to as sticky circles) and painted over them and the nails with Chinchilly (one coat).  Let the Chinchilly mostly dry.  Took sticky circles off with tweezers.  Applied Wardrobe Change (one coat) and Essie Good to Go... VOILA!  I will try a more dramatic color scheme next time...like maybe white with Essie Brazilliant or Essie Coat Azure...  OR MAYBE Sinful Colors Cloud 9 with Essie Brazilliant....  Ok, going to bed now.  Getting too excited about all of the color options.  Maybe I'll change it out tomorrow...maybe I'll....

Trial of the Half-Moon Manicure

I'm trying out the half-moon manicure today.  LOVE IT!!!  Post pics later!

Late night makeup! Post 2 - Playing with Purple!

I recently bought, as you might have read, some new MAC pigments.  I was SO excited to see what kind of looks I could get out of these new medium of mine!  The first look is more of a daytime look, the second is and nighttime look and the third is more of a formal night out look...like prom or a ball.  This is a buildable look which can be great if you're going from work to a night out.  Also - -  I didn't mention this on my last post BUT one of the hazards of this being "Late Night Makeup" is "Late Night Hair" - SO...try not to be overwhelmed by the mess that is my coif.

.
These first pics are the minimal purple pics.  This is MAC Softwash Grey pigment with a bit of MAC Stars N Rockets over it.  Than I added Almay Purple Amethyst liquid liner, a Rimmel purple crayon liner under my eye and MAC Wonder Woman Opulash Mascara in Victorious (purple).  It's a very subtle look but could be worn anywhere.

For the next few pics I've done a few extra things.  I've completely covered my lid in the Almay purple liquid liner and Prevention of Sexual Harassment(black with purple sparkle to it) and added MAC Silver Fog pigment to the brow and inner lid.  In addition, I put my black mascara on to really define the lashes.

This is the first of the Prom Makeup Look pics.  I added Tarina Tarantino E/S in Victorian Punk to the bottom of the top lid, MAC Fluidline gel liner in Blacktrack for a cats eye and MAC Reflect Pearl glitter to the inside lid/nose and the outer lid just above the liner wing.  I love how glitzy this looks!

Ok, this is my late night attempt at trying to FAKE a better hairdo so you can picture going out on the town with this look...try to use your imagination...

I'm SO wearing this for New Year's Eve this year.  Watch out 2012!!!  Ok, goodnight.  :)
